Boys, nerves and outings

Hmmmmm..........

I have a date tomorrow night.

I am nervous and excited . As nervous and excited as I was in preparation for the first of these such outings, probably about twenty years ago? In those days the thought of holding hands in the cinema, the thrill of a sneaky cigarette and a good night kiss could have my mind racing for days.

Still, I am wondering what we'll talk about, what I will wear, will he like me?

This time, however, it'll be red wine, dinner, civilised chat and the rose tinted glasses have been long ago discarded. I think the thing the most makes me nervous is my uncanny knack of choosing inappropriate or unsuitable men. How do I spot those red flags before I find myself in another situation that's all wrong for me, or accept it could be right?

Arghh!

  2. That's wonderful!! I hope it goes beautifully!

My 2 cents on spotting the red flags -- make a list. Actually two. One of what you want, and concentrate on that the most. And one of what you don't want, so you can really clarify what those red flags are. For me, writing it down helps me clarify and stay aware. I've been working on this myself with the work stuff.

  4. Ok, so....a successful evening! An evening pased in good and interesting conversation. Time flying. Nervous, yes. Relaxed also. Lots of gentle flirting and 'Well, I'll take you there sometime' type comments, gentlemanly behaviour, a good night kiss and text to check I was home and safe. Hurrah!

Now all I need to do is try not to worry about whether he'll call or not............arghhhh!!

This never gets any easier. Exciting though.

  5. Yay! So glad it went well! I know, that part is the worst - delicious and excruciating at the same time.
