Wouldn't life be easier (and more fun) if we could gloriously decorate our masks with feathers, glitter, stones we found on beaches, buttons and brass and communicate ourselves to the world that way!

And, at least, we'd never forget they are merely a disguise....Vhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01785781682613066190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4913528995711408109.post-26931752581324788372010-02-04T16:51:57.673+00:002010-02-04T16:51:57.673+00:00We all wear masks, because we all live in fear tha...We all wear masks, because we all live in fear that if people found out who we really were, they couldn't like us, couldn't love us.

And all those seemingly confident people out there are all insecure.

One of the problems, of course, is that when we wear our masks all the time, we can forget that there is anything beneath the mask. And the fear is if we were to abandon our masks, there would be nothing substantial underneath.

I know I certainly reached that point a few years ago.

But that feeling is a fear, not the truth.

The voice I hear on this blog is one who is very substantial - real, full of hope, love, fears, dreams, sadness, anger, terror, caring and warmth.

The masks can be convenient to move in certain social circles - sometimes it's just easier to pretend to play the game, even if EVERYONE is pretending and hoping no one else notices.

But don't mistake the mask for reality, or feel it is the only thing of substance.

It is OK for you to be you. Glorious, powerful, you :)Kim Ayreshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02656677501116622953noreply@blogger.com
